Katalin hercegné (Princess of Wales) teljesítette a Three Peaks Challenge-et – három ország csúcsai és egy személyes ügy

A walesi hercegné, Katalin teljesítette a brit National Three Peaks Challenge-et, vagyis Skócia, Anglia és Wales legmagasabb csúcsait mászta meg a Royal Marsden Cancer Charity támogatására. A kihívás egyszerre volt sportteljesítmény, személyes üzenet és jótékonysági akció: nagyjából 24 órába sűrített hegyi menet, hosszú autós transzferekkel, kevés alvással, sok szinttel – vagyis az a műfaj, ahol a protokollnál valamivel fontosabb a zokniválasztás.

When I was young, I had an external-frame backpack – it was very “cool” back then, and I used it a lot in the Tatras, Transylvania, and the Hungarian mountains. During my university years, internal-frame packs became much more “cool”, I even made one for myself, and hitchhiked all over Europe with it. Lately I’ve had to realize that neither is better or worse than the other – you just have to choose the right one for the specific use case.

That’s why I picked up a really strong and large external-frame pack: Varusteleka Sarma TST RP80. After several months of use and testing, I’m sharing my experience with you. If I had to summarize briefly what I describe in detail in this article, it would sound like this: “for heavy loads, on tough terrain, in hard conditions, there are very few packs better than this” – and I say that as someone who has tried and tested many large trekking and military backpacks.

Fiatal koromban volt fémvázas hátizsákom, akkor nagyon „menő” volt, sokat használtam a Tátrában, Erdélyben, a magyar hegyekben. Egyetemista koromban már sokkal „menőbb” lett a belső merevítésű hátizsák, ilyet magamnak is készítettem, azzal stoppoltam végig Európát. Az utóbbi időben pedig rá kellett jönnöm, hogy egyik sem jobb/rosszabb a másiknál, csak vannak felhasználási területek, amelyikre jól kell tudni választani. Ezért beszereztem egy igazán erős és nagy külső vázat zsákot: Varusteleka Sarma TST RP80. Több hónap használat és tesztelés után megosztom veletek a tapasztalataimat. Ha röviden kellene összefoglalnom azt, amit a cikkben hosszan részletezek, akkor az így hangzana: „nehéz teherhez, nehéz terepen, nehéz körülmények között ennél jobb zsák kevés van” – és ezt mondhatom úgy, hogy sok nagy túra és katonai zsákot is kipróbáltam, teszteltem.
